About Dehradun
Doon valley and surroundings have remained a most
sought after destination among the well-heeled Indians and for neighboring
countries for educating their young in its world-class boarding schools. This
has created an atmosphere and inclination for academic and professional
excellence and for creating the space and scope to think outside the box,
laterally and exponentially.
Two hundred and twenty kilometers away from the capital of India New Delhi, Doon
valley lies in the foothills of Himalayas. Here and above in the hills, Indian
sages have been coming to ponder over life matters from ancient times till
today. The combined classic wisdom they left to the humankind to benefit from
still holds true in the age of ever evolving technically advanced
communications, systems and life styles.
People call it Town/City, I call it my village. Maximum Modern Development of
Dehradun took place between 1821 to 1827 and credits goes to Sir J Shore, then
Magistrate of DehraDun. If Sri Guram Rai ji established Dehra Dun then Sir Shore
Developed it. Dehra Dun started loosing its charm and greenery after some where
near 1950s.
